With over 15 years experience in the field, Black Light Entertainment have been entertaining audiences with music ranging in all genres and music tastes, from 1940's to present day hits.

We provide quality mobile discos for any party; which include wedding receptions, anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, etc. A wedding party will often include an audience with a wide age range, and its far more tricky for the DJ to judge the right tune selection. In an average party the DJ may play as many as 80 to 100 tracks so every song has to work. Requests on the night help but sometimes requests might be inappropriate for the occasion so discretion is used where appropriate.

As well as using the latest MP3 mixing desks and amplification, we also use vinyl and CDs to provide any song you may request. We have over 20,000 songs to choose from. black Light Entertainment's music selection is always up to date but we also bring along all the party favourites and floor filling classics. We also provide an impressive lighting system using latest theatre technologies that will encourage everyone to the dance floor.

How long in advance do I need to book any entertainment?
Anytime. Some people book Black Light Entertainment two years ahead, some at the last minute. Even if we are fully booked on your day, we can recommend an alternative entertainment company.

What Electrical Equipment do you use?
No matter what music the DJ plays it must be played on quality mobile disco equipment. Many mobile discos use cheap DJ equipment and work on the assumption that if they turn the volume up, its good enough. We have an excellent sound system, able to produce a full frequency response coupled with advanced lighting are essential to enhance the party atmosphere. Fortunately for our clients Black Light Entertainment hire rates are not that much higher than a DJ using cheap DJ equipment.

What do your DJs play?
We carry a huge selection of over 20,000 songs which includes music from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and almost all the current chart hits as well as your party favourites. We will ask you what genres you wish us to play but will be available for requests too. When booking Black Light Entertainment you will be invited to send a list of favourite music, which will be used as a template play list. We are extremely experienced at reading the crowd and adopt a flexible approach, and adapt the music selection to match the moment and the occasion. On the night We encourage you and your guest to make requests and of course you are welcome to bring any of your own highly specialised or very rare personal favourite's, however if there are children present we will not play any uncensored songs.

Do you play requests?
Yes, although discretion is used to ensure the requested song is in-keeping with the occasion.
Eg. Songs with lots of swearing would not be appropriate at a party for young children or at a School disco etc.

What areas do you cover?
Typically a 50 mile radius around Greater London. We are located to gain access to the M25, M11, M1, M2, M4 etc so we can travel to any venue on the UK mainland. We have also entertained in the Channel Islands and parts of Europe.

We use Sat Nav with live traffic updates to find the party venue, so please always check to make sure you give us the correct postcode.

How long does it take you to set up?
For an average sized mobile disco set up (up to 150 people) about 45 minutes, depending on the type of the event but we always allow at least an hour. Other factors such as difficulty in accessing the venue may require additional set up time. Bigger disco set ups will require a longer period. Please factor this in when booking a venue. Some venues insist everyone is out by a set time. If it takes an hour to set up it will take about an hour to pack away. However if time is a problem a different disco set up may be appropriate or we can bring some extra hands to help.

Do you use strobe lighting?
We have all kinds of lighting effects, including powerful club-standard strobes. However, we only use these when requested and appropriate. For example we would use strobe lighting for a teenagers Party but not often at a Wedding party. In all cases the DJ will also issue a warning the strobe will be used and invite people from the crowd to come forward if the are uncomfortable with this. Furthermore the strobe effect will be used sparingly and further invitations to report distress will be issued by the DJ.

What size venues can you cater for?
Any size. The prices are not dependant on size of venue or number of people. Obviously a larger venue will need better lighting. See price guide for details.

Is the mobile disco equipment safe?
Yes the equipment is P.A.T checked and regularly serviced. We are also take safety very seriously. When we set up, leads are taped down and equipment is arranged to avoid injuries. Although we will always take every precaution possible we can not take responsibility for injuries cased by the careless behaviour of others or the misuse of the disco equipment.
