Dj Simon uses Traktor Pro DJ software made by Native Instruments, also well known by professional musicians for it's music software.
Celestion loudspeakers are used in our sound system, which have an equivalent sound quality to the Bose loudspeakers.
Communication is very important at your function, so we use professional Gemini dual wireless microphones. As Light Year Disco has a high output sound system we can confidently cater for large and small venues. We can cope with up to 500 guests at a function. Functions at all major hotels in the Gatwick area can be catered for.
Synchronised DMX lighting effects are used including a laser which produces an excellent effect.
Simon will wear what you like at your function, smart or casual dress, including formal evening wear if required.

Your function will be discussed with you in detail. Once all the details of the function have been agreed, a confirmation letter is sent to confirm the booking. Our unique music questionnaire for styles of music is completed by the client so you can be sure we play the music you want at your function, this questionnaire also asks the client to provide the essential information for the function, such as the address (so we can use our satellite navigation), styles of music and some special songs for the function.
DJ Simon is an experienced wedding DJ. I will research special requests if required, such as that special first dance. I am a specialist in every types of wedding event up to the most lavish events, and we can provide a quotation for the whole day if required. Light Year Disco can provide equipment that will cater for the largest function rooms in the Gatwick area.
Light Year Disco uses a technique employed by hi fi enthusiasts, called bi amplification; using two amplifiers, one for the bass signal and one for the mid range and treble; this method produces the highest quality sound possible for a DJ sound system, using Celestion SR1 Professional Range loudspeakers.
Our complete sound system is capable of delivering up to 1,200 watts RMS and will not run out of level or become distorted like some DJ's systems that are not powerful enough for the size of function room.
Peace of mind with regard to health and safety is important at your function. We have Public liability insurance and our equipment is pat tested. We use circuit breakers for the mains electricity source. Unlike many DJ's we have risk assessment documentation is completed for our operations.
We can offer a special service for themed functions such as James Bond themed evenings, company functions such as team building events; if requested we can provide a 'pop' quiz at your corporate function. We work well with other entertainers such as pop and rock and roll bands too. More details are explained on our website.
Styles of music span from 1960's to the 2000's. All decades of popular music are catered for. We play 60's, 70's and 80's music and 90's and 00's, and are always guided by the client as to the choice of music.
We play within a 30-mile radius of Crawley and Horsham. Nearest attractions are Gatwick airport, Crawley shopping mall, M25 and M23 motorways. Brighton and the south coast.
Our pricing is very reasonable given the scale of investment in our equipment. We do not negotiate our rates, which start from £199.00 for a teenager's party and are £250.00 for a birthday party or a wedding function, from 19:00 hours up until 00:00 hours. In 2011, we appreciate it is important that you know the price you are going to pay wherever your function is.
